Influencia de los Medios de Comunicación
En general, no se duda de que los medios de comunicación influyen en la lengua y contribuyen a la expansión de las creaciones lingüísticas individuales, de los dispositivos lingüísticos específicos de cada grupo o de los regionalismos. Sin embargo, faltan pruebas de que la influencia aparentemente "obvia" de los medios de comunicación exista realmente o de que sea tan fuerte como se sostiene comúnmente, y se admite ampliamente que es casi imposible reunir pruebas estadísticamente significativas de cualquier influencia de los medios de comunicación en la lengua. Esta contribución aporta pruebas del español, mostrando que las palabras españolas regionales chafardear y chafardero, del catalán xafardejar, entraron en la lengua española a través de un popular cómic publicado en España desde los años cuarenta, y que su conocimiento y expansión pueden relacionarse definitivamente con el éxito del cómic creado por un artista catalán. El estudio se basa en un total de 60 entrevistas realizadas tanto en las regiones bilingües catalán-español como en regiones no catalanas.

During the 19th century, the information "boom" rapidly advanced due to postal systems, increased accessibility of newspapers, as well as "modernization" schools. The information revolution was based on modern advances. The change in timing based on innovation and efficiency may not have a direct correlation to technology.
Newspapers are written media, which owe their name to being written periodically at fixed time intervals. Thus, dailies, weeklies and yearbooks are types of periodicals with daily, weekly and annual periodicity. Dailies, due to their high periodicity, have been used basically for daily current affairs, and to a lesser extent for the analysis of relevant social issues. On the other hand, weeklies focus on some outstanding social issues that are analyzed in greater depth, and in which many less important daily current events are left aside.
